VFX Artist’s role:

VFX History

VFX, or visual effects, have been used in filmmaking since the very beginning of cinema. initially, the effects were achieved through practical means such as using miniature , matte paintings, and puppetry. However , as technology progressed, filmmaker began using more sophisticated techniques to create increasingly complex and realistic effects. In 1970s, computer - generated imagery (CGI) began to be used in film, primarily for creating simple 2D animations. the first film to use a significant amount of CGI was the 1982 science fiction film Torn which created a digital. world using computer graphics

By 1910, production houses in the United states started developing the onscreen effects and cinematography of their productions by adding in varying shot transitions and multiple sorts of zoom's for setting the films tone and general ambiance. There was a giant leap in the 30's for the progression of VFX specifically as on location filming was difficult to do due to the addition of audio to the moving pictures. From there, there has been nothing but jumps in  quality and technology, which led to disney creating one of the first combined CGI and live-action film in the 80s and further continuing to create completely computer animated films such as Toy Story. The rest is all history.

Today VFX are an integral part of almost every major movies round the world with CGI and digital composition used to create everything from massive explosion it elaborate creature designs to subtle touchups and backgrounds replacements The industry continue to evolve with new technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality

I was also fascinated by VFX and VFX artist’s in the film industry, seeing films like Avatar, Jungle book, and every comic-book film that is released with brilliant CGI made it easier for me to decide. I plan on making VFX a big part of my career as I want to make it accessible and cost effective for independent filmmakers
